Spring High Tea - Saturday, April 2nd

Our Spring High Tea was a success!  The Lord certainly blessed us with a beautiful spring day & we were thrilled to welcome 36 of our dear friends & family members to share in sweet fellowship & amazing food!

After Georgia offered a prayer to bless our time together as well as our meal, our Women's Ministry Director, Kathy, started us off with some brief announcements about our upcoming Women of the Well events, our new worship time (Saturdays @ 6pm), new Bible study Wednesdays @ 7pm & gave a quick overview of the order of events.

After enjoying a wide selecion of hot & cold teas, as well as heavenly scones (blueberry oat, apricot/cranberry, cranberry/orange & lemon poppyseed) with orange flavored butter spread & raspberry, strawberry & orange marmalade jam, we were treated to a meal fit for a queen.

Our buffet-style lunch menu featured absolutely scrumptious walnut/apple/chicken salad & egg salad on fresh buttery toasted croissants, a marvelous salad with candied pecans, apples, crumbled feta cheese & a rich balsamic vinaigrette dressing, broccoli salad with crunchy carrots, sweet raisins & smokey bacon, & for dessert a beautifully crafted homemade cake (made by Madison) which featured Skittles candies & mini red velvet cupcakes as decorative embellishments.

Janis served as our Master Chef & coordinated the amazing menu!  Thank you, Janis, for the time, heart & soul that you poured into the preparation of this glorious feast!

Throughout the duration of the evening, a few of our guests were pleasantly surprised with prizes from our raffle.  Amongst the prizes that were donated were a green iPod Shuffle, a miniature tea set in a gorgeous pink floral pattern, a tea saucer-shaped photo frame, a Scentsy warmer with three amazing scented wax bars, Scentsy car fresheners, hand lotions, a teacup tealight holder, a teapot shaped note pad & pen, a gorgeous hand-made quilt, & two lovely mugs with a bouquet of flowers.

After our bellies were satisfied, we moved into the chapel to have our spirits fed by our lovely speaker, Chaplain Pam of Day-Break Ministries (http://www.day-breakministries.org/).  Pam shared her moving personal testimony & also spoke about her ministry & how God has utilized her to minister to incarcerated women.  There were few dry eyes after viewing a short video about the Get on the Bus ministry, which reunites children with their mothers in jail or prison (http://www.getonthebus.us/).  Pam's love for these women is truly evident & she has such a giving & sweet spirit.  What a privilege to share this time together!

After returning to the fellowship hall, we ended the evening on a "high note" (no pun intended) with some worship lead by the graceful & musically gifted Syd.  The sweet presence of the Holy Spirit could be felt as each lady lifted up her voice & her heart in unison to God in song.  What a wonderful way to end a simply relaxing & special time of fellowship.

Thank you to all who joined us & we are already looking forward to our next event!

God bless ~ Have a super week!
